Description

The Connection Unit is the control center that allows communication between all devices of the IRSAP NOW system and provides the necessary information to each component of the system so that it works at its best to achieve the desired comfort.

The settings chosen and saved in the app can only be communicated to the devices through the Connection Unit, thus making it the essential device for the operation of the IRSAP NOW System.

The Connection Unit contains a copy of the information linked to the IRSAP NOW System (number of items connected to the IRSAP NOW System, setting time slots, zoning of the environments), in order to ensure its operation in the event of a loss of connection to the Internet.

When the LED is green and flashing, the Connection Unit is connecting to the app. The moment the connection is successful and the system is working, the LED remains green and stops flashing.

The Connection Unit is a compact and low-size device (104 x 48 x 28 mm), and will be sent to you with the following accessories:

  • 1 Ethernet cable
  • 1 USB/ micro USB cable

Operation

For the optimal operation of communication between IRSAP NOW devices, we recommend that you place the Connection Unit in the center of the System, so that the communication (radio frequency transmission) is uniform between all the installed devices.

In general, the range of the Connection Unit is about 10 meters, however the width could be reduced due to the structure of the building (e.g. very thick walls, stone walls, presence of metal/shielding panels).

In case you need to extend or strengthen the signal, you can add one (or more) Connection Unit to your system and activate it in Repater mode (without connecting via Ethernet cable).

In-depth questions

When the Connection Unit LED is yellow, it means that the device is offline, that is, it cannot connect to the internet.

Verify that the Ethernet cable is properly inserted into the Connection Unit, that the router is turned on and running, and that there are no line/network issues in your area.

If after doing these checks the LED remains yellow, contact the operator of your phone line and ask for a quick verification of the router settings.

We remind you that the System, if already registered and associated through the app, will continue to work according to the defined settings (e.g. setpoints, time slots).

If the Connection Unit LED is red, the IRSAP NOW System is malfunctioning.

In this case, restart the Connection Unit (detach and reconnect both the socket and the Ethernet cable).

If the problem persists, please contact our help center.

If the Connection Unit LED is flashing red, it is signaling the failure of the IRSAP NOW System to associate with the app.

The System is not associated with a system (user/home) and it will therefore be necessary to complete the registration procedure through the app.

The Connection Unit communicates with IRSAP NOW devices via radio frequency (868Mhz).

If you decide to replace the router to which the Connection Unit is connected, simply connect the Connection Unit Ethernet cable to the new router.

The settings already defined in the app will remain stored.

You can check the correct connection of the device through the operating LED (find more information about the LED in the questions in this section).

In case an error is detected, you will also receive the relevant notification through the IRSAP NOW app.

If the Connection Unit LED does not turn on, you should check that it is properly connected to the electrical outlet.

We recommend that you detach the socket, verify that the adapter is inserted correctly and reconnect; if the problem persists, please contact our help center.

If in particular conditions the Connection Unit signal is weak and there is no communication between the Connection Unit and the other devices of the IRSAP NOW System, an additional Connection Unit can be used in Repeater mode, in order to repeat signals ranging from the Connection Unit to the devices and vice versa.

Activating this function, the temperature set on the Smart Valve will not be manually editable.

We have thought of this function for all those cases where the cylindrical shell could be inadvertently rotated (e.g. children, cleaning).

As a preliminary step, check that the installation of the Smart Valve is correct (see the installation instructions in this section) and that the operation of the hydraulic valve is optimal (e.g. internal drawing; for this verification and similar it may be necessary the intervention of a technician).

The Smart Valve could be installed in unfavorable positions (e.g.: at the bottom of the radiator, near windows with drafts of air, very close to the floor). In this case, you can set an “offset” (temperature deviation of a few degrees more) through the app, following a few simple instructions that you will find in the “Devices” section of the app itself.

It will be enough to reassemble the plastic until the safety shot.

We remind you that the cylinder has only one verse for the insertion to be correct.

Verify that the Smart Valve installation is correct (see installation instructions in this section).

If the Smart Valves are installed in unfavorable positions (e.g. at the top of the radiator, with vertical orientation, covered with curtains, inside niches, near heat sources), the temperature detected may be affected by errors.

In this case, you can set an “offset” (temperature deviation of a few degrees less) through the app, following a few simple instructions that you will find in the “Devices” section of the app itself.

To replace the batteries:

  1. Remove the main body of the Smart Valve from the valve body, putting pressure on the front plastic and rotating the device clockwise.

a) Disassemble the back of the Smart Valve by holding it tight and rotating the device clockwise

2. Open the metal tab on the back of the device, sliding it.

3. Remove the exhausted batteries and insert the new ones, paying attention to polarity (+/-).

4. Close the battery compartment tab and re-mount the Smart Valve body: place it on the valve body and rotate counterclockwise.

To make sure the assembly has been successful, make sure that once the lid is closed and the cylindrical shell is rotated, the LEDs in the front turn on.

In case of low batteries, the Smart Valve LED light ring will start flashing yellow and you will receive a notification from the app.

It is possible to increase or decrease the temperature by rotating the cylindrical shell of the valve.

The color of the LED will change, changing the temperature in the room where the valve is installed.

After that, it will be very easy to monitor the set temperature in the room, consulting the app.

No, there is no need for every radiator in your home to be connected to a Smart Valve.

However, if you want to get maximum efficiency from your heating system, it is advisable to install a Smart Valve for each radiator and adjust room temperatures via app.

You can place your thermostat on the wall or place it on a flat surface.

We recommend that you place it away from heat sources and at a comfortable height for use.

If you are replacing the Smart Thermostat with the old wall thermostat, simply detach it while maintaining existing connections, place your Smart Thermostat and proceed with the installation.

If you want to place the Smart Thermostat in a different place from the original one without masonry works (drilling walls, cable passage and the like), but you still need the thermostat to control the on/off of the boiler, you can install the Smart Thermostat by connecting it to the boiler via relay.

Alternatively, you can add the Starter IRSAP NOW, install it directly on the boiler, delete the old thermostat and place the Smart Thermostat wherever you like.

To set up the IRSAP NOW System in your app, follow these steps:

Go to Menu –> Extended Click on “Home X” –> Add new home –> Configure new home.

The app will ask you to confirm access to the location of the device and, if necessary, to activate geolocation.

You will then be asked to enter your home address, which will be used to optimize the information shared with the IRSAP NOW System (e.g., geofencing), confirm your address details and enter a nickname for your home.

Shipments

Shipping times vary depending on the products ordered.

Kits and white products are delivered within 3-5 working days in Italy and within 3-10 working days in France and Spain.

Colored Smart Valves are delivered in about 10 working days.

Orders that contain at least one colored Smart Valve follow the shipping times of the colored Smart Valve (no more shipments are made for the same order, regardless of the number of pieces purchased).
