The Connection Unit is the control center that allows communication between all devices of the IRSAP NOW system and provides the necessary information to each component of the system so that it works at its best to achieve the desired comfort.

The settings chosen and saved in the app can only be communicated to the devices through the Connection Unit, thus making it the essential device for the operation of the IRSAP NOW System.

The Connection Unit contains a copy of the information linked to the IRSAP NOW System (number of items connected to the IRSAP NOW System, setting time slots, zoning of the environments), in order to ensure its operation in the event of a loss of connection to the Internet.

When the LED is green and flashing, the Connection Unit is connecting to the app. The moment the connection is successful and the system is working, the LED remains green and stops flashing.

The Connection Unit is a compact and low-size device (104 x 48 x 28 mm), and will be sent to you with the following accessories:

• 1 Ethernet cable
• 1 USB/ micro USB cable
• 1 power supply
• 1 EU plug adapter
• 1 UK plug adapter
• QR code for instructions.

For the optimal operation of communication between IRSAP NOW devices, we recommend that you place the Connection Unit in the center of the System, so that the communication (radio frequency transmission) is uniform between all the installed devices.

In general, the range of the Connection Unit is about 10 meters, however the width could be reduced due to the structure of the building (e.g. very thick walls, stone walls, presence of metal/shielding panels).

In case you need to extend or strengthen the signal, you can add one (or more) Connection Unit to your system and activate it in Repater mode (without connecting via Ethernet cable).

The Connection Unit works by connecting to an electrical outlet and an Ethernet cable to be connected to the router.

Alternatively, if your router is set up, you can power the Connection Unit by connecting the USB cable directly to the router.

Unfortunately, the Connection Unit cannot be connected to a WiFi network, but only to a router.

We remind you that among the connection unit accessories supplied you will also find an Ethernet cable.

• Connect the Connection Unit to the router and power supply
• Power with connection to the router:

• Power supply with power grid connection (EU adapter, top right UK adapter)

• Check the connection: the LED signal will be red and flashing

• Launch the app and add the Connection Unit to your home setup: follow the directions and frame the QR code you find in the package, this will record and associate the Connection Unit with your home system.

The LED signal will be fixed and green in color.

When the Connection Unit LED is yellow, it means that the device is offline, that is, it cannot connect to the internet.

Verify that the Ethernet cable is properly inserted into the Connection Unit, that the router is turned on and running, and that there are no line/network issues in your area.

If after doing these checks the LED remains yellow, contact the operator of your phone line and ask for a quick verification of the router settings.

We remind you that the System, if already registered and associated through the app, will continue to work according to the defined settings (e.g. setpoints, time slots).

If the Connection Unit LED is red, the IRSAP NOW System is malfunctioning.

In this case, restart the Connection Unit (detach and reconnect both the socket and the Ethernet cable).

If the problem persists, please contact our help center.

If the Connection Unit LED is flashing red, it is signaling the failure of the IRSAP NOW System to associate with the app.

The System is not associated with a system (user/home) and it will therefore be necessary to complete the registration procedure through the app.

If the problem persists after completing the registration, please contact our help center.

The Connection Unit communicates with IRSAP NOW devices via radio frequency (868Mhz).

If you decide to replace the router to which the Connection Unit is connected, simply connect the Connection Unit Ethernet cable to the new router.

The settings already defined in the app will remain stored.

You can check the correct connection of the device through the operating LED (find more information about the LED in the questions in this section).

In case an error is detected, you will also receive the relevant notification through the IRSAP NOW app.

If the Connection Unit LED does not turn on, you should check that it is properly connected to the electrical outlet.

We recommend that you detach the socket, verify that the adapter is inserted correctly and reconnect; if the problem persists, please contact our help center.

If in particular conditions the Connection Unit signal is weak and there is no communication between the Connection Unit and the other devices of the IRSAP NOW System, an additional Connection Unit can be used in Repeater mode, in order to repeat signals ranging from the Connection Unit to the devices and vice versa.

We remind you that this device cannot be connected to a WiFi network, but will communicate in radio frequency only with the Connection Unit.

The Repeater must be positioned equidistant between the Connection Unit and devices that have communication problems.

The IRSAP NOW Repeater is only necessary in the event of communication problems between IRSAP NOW system devices dictated by the distance between them or by architectural barriers (the repeater’s range under normal conditions is about 10 meters).

Any communication issues between devices are always reported by the IRSAP NOW app.

Using the Connection Unit as a Repeater is very simple.

Before switching to installation and configuration, connect the Repeater to the electrical outlet, press the side button 5 times within 3 seconds.

Will the bright LED flash in color red and you can proceed to the configuration in the app. For more information see the “Installation” section.

The IRSAP NOW Repeater works by connecting to an electrical outlet.

To install and configure the Connection Unit in Repeater mode you can follow the following steps:

1. Connect the Repeater to the electrical outlet (Warning: do not connect the Ethernet port!)

2. Turn on Repeater mode: Press the side button 5 times in 3 seconds. The LED will flash green.

3. On the app, select “> Devices Menu –> Add Device –> Repeater”

4. Frame the QR Code or manually enter the code on the Repeater: the app will automatically register the device by associating it with the created system.

The Smart Valve is IRSAP’s smart wireless valve that, installed on each radiator, allows you to detect and adjust the temperature of each room independently.

The Smart Valve optimizes the use of the single radiator by dynamically managing the passage of water and thus increasing the efficiency of the heating system.

If the valve on your radiator is not thermostatized (see image above), you can still install the Smart Valve, subject to replacement of the old hydraulic valve.

IRSAP offers a full range of thermostatisable valves, suitable for all hydraulic heating systems.

However, we recommend that the replacement work be carried out by a professional.

To replace the hydraulic valves or request a simple advice on those most suitable for your system, you can contact one of our technical experts in the area, find the closest to you.

To understand if your radiator’s hydraulic valve is thermostatized, you can refer to the following images:

To check the compatibility of the IRSAP NOW Smart Valve with your heating system, you can use the configurator at this.

The Smart Valve is compatible with most hydraulic radiators on the market, and it is generally possible to easily replace a traditional thermostatic valve with the Smart Valve.

If the valve on your radiator is not thermostatized, you can still install the Smart Valve, subject to replacement of the old hydraulic valve.

The Smart Valve must be installed on the radiator, replacing the thermostatic valve present.

For optimal operation of the zone heating system, each radiator should have its own Smart Valve.

The Smart Valve works exclusively with two AA alkaline batteries: for optimal performance, we recommend using non-rechargeable batteries.

We remind you that the first equipment is included in the package.

Activating this function, the temperature set on the Smart Valve will not be manually editable.

We have thought of this function for all those cases where the cylindrical shell could be inadvertently rotated (e.g. children, cleaning).

As a preliminary step, check that the installation of the Smart Valve is correct (see the installation instructions in this section) and that the operation of the hydraulic valve is optimal (e.g. internal drawing; for this verification and similar it may be necessary the intervention of a technician).

The Smart Valve could be installed in unfavorable positions (e.g.: at the bottom of the radiator, near windows with drafts of air, very close to the floor). In this case, you can set an “offset” (temperature deviation of a few degrees more) through the app, following a few simple instructions that you will find in the “Devices” section of the app itself.

It will be enough to reassemble the plastic until the safety shot.

We remind you that the cylinder has only one verse for the insertion to be correct.

Verify that the Smart Valve installation is correct (see installation instructions in this section).

If the Smart Valves are installed in unfavorable positions (e.g. at the top of the radiator, with vertical orientation, covered with curtains, inside niches, near heat sources), the temperature detected may be affected by errors.

In this case, you can set an “offset” (temperature deviation of a few degrees less) through the app, following a few simple instructions that you will find in the “Devices” section of the app itself.

To replace the batteries:

1. Remove the main body of the Smart Valve from the valve body, putting pressure on the front plastic and rotating the device clockwise.

2. Open the metal tab on the back of the device, sliding it.

3. Remove the exhausted batteries and insert the new ones, paying attention to polarity (+/-).

4. Close the battery compartment tab and re-mount the Smart Valve body: place it on the valve body and rotate counterclockwise.

To make sure the assembly has been successful, make sure that once the lid is closed and the cylindrical shell is rotated, the LEDs in the front turn on.

If necessary, contact our Customer Support.

In case of low batteries, the Smart Valve LED light ring will start flashing yellow and you will receive a notification from the app.

It is possible to increase or decrease the temperature by rotating the cylindrical shell of the valve.

The color of the LED will change, changing the temperature in the room where the valve is installed.

After that, it will be very easy to monitor the set temperature in the room, consulting the app.

No, there is no need for every radiator in your home to be connected to a Smart Valve.

However, if you want to get maximum efficiency from your heating system, it is advisable to install a Smart Valve for each radiator and adjust room temperatures via app.

The colors of the Smart Valve correspond to the following temperature bands:

• Blue: 12.0°- 15.5°C
• Azure: 16.0° – 19.5°C
• Green: 20.0° – 22.5°C
• Orange: 23.0° – 25.5°C
• Red: 26.0° – 32.0°C

To date kits are only available with white valves: if you wish, you can buy valves of different colors individually.

In general, it should be remembered that the painting process can have different final results depending on the painted material.

In any case, if your radiator is an IRSAP product, we guarantee that the color used for painting the valves will be the same as your radiator.

To find out what the color of your radiator is, check what is reported in the delivery receipt, if in your possession.

Alternatively, you can contact your dealer or an authorized reseller of ours.

Unfortunately, to date we do not create custom colors for Smart Valves.

To date, you can only buy colored Smart Valves, other devices (Connection Unit, Smart Thermostat, Starter) are not available in different colors.

The Smart Thermostat is a smart thermostat that allows you to set the temperatures of the areas of your home, and is also able to detect the temperature, humidity and air quality of the area of the house in which it is located.

The thermostat measures 168x88x24 mm and will be sent to you with the following accessories: 2 non-rechargeable AA alkaline batteries, 2 screws for wall fixing.

The Smart Thermostat can replace any wired thermostat on the market: the Smart Thermostat in fact works on batteries, and can also be connected to the boiler by relay.

To check the compatibility of your thermostat to your system more precisely, you can use the configurator.

You can place your thermostat on the wall or place it on a flat surface.

We recommend that you place it away from heat sources and at a comfortable height for use.

If you are replacing the Smart Thermostat with the old wall thermostat, simply detach it while maintaining existing connections, place your Smart Thermostat and proceed with the installation.

If you want to place the Smart Thermostat in a different place from the original one without masonry works (drilling walls, cable passage and the like), but you still need the thermostat to control the on/off of the boiler, you can install the Smart Thermostat by connecting it to the boiler via relay.

Alternatively, you can add the Starter IRSAP NOW, install it directly on the boiler, delete the old thermostat and place the Smart Thermostat wherever you like.

Of course, an additional thermostat allows you to more accurately measure temperature, humidity and air quality in an area of the house other than the one where the main thermostat is installed.

If your heating system includes the IRSAP NOW System with one or more Smart Valves, by installing more Smart Thermostat you can benefit from the “Multizone” mode remotely, controlling it via app.

The Smart Thermostat works with two AA alkaline batteries: for optimal operation, we recommend using non-rechargeable batteries.

We remind you that the first equipment is included in the package.

For information on installing and configuring the Smart Thermostat wizard you can follow the following instructions:

• Remove the back plastic cover

Insert the batteries into the battery compartment (the Smart Thermostat will be sent with 2 non-rechargeable AA alkaline batteries already inserted)

• Select in the app “Device > –> Add Device –> Smart Thermostat
• Frame the QR Code or manually enter the code on the Smart Thermostat, the app will automatically register the device by associating it with the system created
• If the QR code or numeric code is not readable, proceed to the emergency association: press the pairing button that you find on the front of the Connection Unit and then at the same time the two arrows “^” and “˅” of the Smart Thermostat.

The “pairing” lettering will appear on the display, the two devices will join and you will receive a notification of association on the app.

Wall installation

In the case of new installation or replacement of the old thermostat connected to the boiler:

• Remove the power supply to the boiler (recommended: remove the power from the whole house)
• Check for lack of current (in case of lack of special instrumentation, detach the general generator)
• Disassemble the previous thermostat and remember to take a photo of the links present and mark the wires

• Attach the back cover of the Smart Thermostat to the wall (screws supplied with)

• Connect electrical wires based on the illustrations shown

• Join the Smart Thermostat to the back cover

• Restore power to the boiler (or the entire house, depending on the choice made previously)
• Follow the points from ‘b’ to ‘e ‘.

WARNING: The Smart Thermostat can also be fixed to the wall without connecting the wires. In this case, it will not communicate directly with the boiler but the basic features will still remain active (temperature measurement, humidity and air quality of the house).

Activate the Smart Thermostat by pressing the center button and display the temperature, air quality level and humidity of the environment in which it is positioned.

By pressing the middle button you can enter the room selection mode, and pressing it sequentially will be possible to scroll between the different rooms, whose name set in the app will appear on the LED screen.

Once you reach the affected environment, the Smart Thermostat will display the set temperature and it will be possible to change it through the “^” and “˅” keys; after setting the desired temperature, simply wait a few seconds for the set point confirmation.

The System will activate to reach the new temperature.

No, through the device you can manually change the set point of each zone but it is not possible to change the time slots or zones, which can only be set and changed by app.

If a set point is changed on the Smart Thermostat and time slots are active in the relative zone, the new set point will remain unchanged only until the next time slot change.

The inscription “IAQ” refers to the internal air quality detected by the device (IAQ = Indoor Air Quality).

The following arrow indicates whether the quality is good, sufficient, or poor.

The percentage shown indicates the humidity detected in the environment in which the Smart Thermostat is located. The letter “H” before the numbers means “Humidity”).

Try to extract the batteries and reinsert them.

The Smart Thermostat will automatically reassociated with the Connection Unit and the words “Welcome” will appear on the display.

If the Smart Thermostat is installed on the wall, to replace the batteries it is necessary to remove the main body of the device from the rear plate by pulling and lifting it.

If the Smart Thermostat is not installed on the wall, remove the rear plate by lifting it. Open the battery compartment door, remove the drains and insert the new ones.

If the Smart Thermostat is not installed on the wall, remove the rear plate by lifting it. Open the battery compartment door, remove the drains and insert the new ones.

To make sure the assembly has been successful, make sure the LEDs in the front turn on.

In case of low batteries, a notification will appear on the app inviting you to replace them.

The Starter is the element of the IRSAP NOW System that allows you to manage the heat generator (boiler or heat pump).

In addition, if your heat generator is ready for power modulation (you can check it on the boiler instruction booklet), IRSAP Starter can optimize its efficiency.

The IRSAP NOW system optimizes the management of the heat generator (boiler or heat pump) to the maximum.

This greatly reduces boiler ignitions, reducing consumption.

According to studies conducted by the University of Bergamo on our first version of the IRSAP NOW System, the reduction in energy consumption has reached 42%.

For this new version, studies are still ongoing: we will update this section as soon as the results are available.

The Starter can be installed near the boiler or where there are direct connections with the heat generator (boiler or heat pump).

In general, the Starter is useful for all those who have an autonomous heating system, or in any case have the possibility to turn the boiler on/off.

In addition, the Starter can replace a thermostat with remote control of the boiler.

IRSAP Starter is necessary if you already have a thermostat with remote control of the boiler or heat pump (e.g. radio frequency thermostat) or a boiler control module.

WARNING: If you have a boiler with a control unit and you want to replace the Starter, it is possible that by replacing the original module it is no longer possible to view all or some diagnostic data.

Contact your boiler technician for more information.

The Starter is powered by cable, by direct connection to the heat generator (boiler or heat pump) on which it is installed, or by connection to the electrical cables of the old thermostat, in case it is replaced.

For information about installing and configuring the IRSAP NOW Starter Wizard, you can follow the following instructions or watch our Video Tutorial (link):

1. Remove the power supply to the boiler (recommended: remove the power supply from the whole house)
2. Check for lack of current (in case of lack of special instrumentation, detach the general generator)
3. Disassemble any previous control of the generator (thermostat or control unit)
4. Take a picture of the links present
5. Mark the wires by inserting the stickers (present in the box) to distinguish them
6. Disassemble any wall plate of the previous Starter

9. Connect electrical wires based on the illustrations shown

14. If the QR code or numeric code is not readable, proceed to the emergency association: press the pairing button that you find on the front of the Connection Unit and then the pairing button on the front of the Starter.

The two devices will pair and you will receive a notification of association on the app.

If it is necessary to force the boiler or heat pump to turn on (e.g. for the annual control of the boiler), you will simply have to press the central button of the Starter.

The boiler will turn on and the central button will flash red.

The IRSAP NOW System is the innovative app-manageable heating control system, with which you can control the operation of the boiler or heat pump and adjust the room-by-room temperature whenever you want, following your lifestyle and needs.

The Connection Unit and the App are the essential elements of the  IRSAP NOW System, to which are added the Smart Valves, the Smart Thermostat, the Starter and the Connection Unit in Repeater mode.

To check the compatibility of the IRSAP NOW system with your system, you can use the configurator.

In general, the IRSAP NOW System is compatible with all boilers and heat pumps, all thermostats and most thermostatic valves on the market.

The IRSAP NOW system allows you to optimize consumption thanks to the temperature management specific to each individual environment at home, thus avoiding waste.

The devices that need to connect to the power outlet are the Connection Unit/Repeater and the Starter.

In addition, the Connection Unit must also be connected to the home router via Ethernet cable (included in the package).

Additional cable connections may be made in cases where it is necessary to connect the Smart Thermostat and/or Starter to the heat generator.

Yes, the System can be easily shared across multiple users through the app.

The app is the software developed by IRSAP to allow users to manage the IRSAP NOW System and monitor heating remotely.

The app ensures the full operation of the System, allowing you to achieve an optimal climate within your home.

You can download the app for free from the App Store or Play Store and install it on any smartphone equipped with Android or iOS operating system.

If you haven’t purchased the devices yet, you can try our demo when you launch the app, to discover all the features of the IRSAP NOW System.

In case you’ve already purchased the devices, you’ll need to register and start the setup wizard.

If you want to change your password, follow the path “Menu” > “System Preferences” > “Password” > “Change password”.

To configure devices purchased and installed in multiple rooms, follow these steps:

First set up the rooms in your home:

1. Menu –> Rooms –> Add Room (Blue “+” button at the bottom right)
2. Choose room name and corresponding icon –> “done” check in the upper right.

Then, set up the devices:

1. Menu –> Devices –> Add Device (+” blue button at the bottom right)

2. Choose the product you want to install

3. Choose which room should be installed

4. Give consent to the acquisition of photos and videos from your smartphone

5. Proceed to install the device wizard.

To set up the IRSAP NOW System in your app, follow these steps:

Go to Menu –> Extended Click on “Home X” –> Add new home –> Configure new home.

The app will ask you to confirm access to the location of the device and, if necessary, to activate geolocation.

You will then be asked to enter your home address, which will be used to optimize the information shared with the IRSAP NOW System (e.g., geofencing), confirm your address details and enter a nickname for your home.

Within the app you can insert multiple homes, connected to different IRSAP NOW devices.

You can make the payment through Visa and Mastercard cards, or through PayPal.

At the time of purchase, in the summary box you will be asked to enter the discount code.
